How to choose

Car seat cushions for the seat, back or both

For the seat, the SciatiGuard™ U-Cut Seat Cushion has a U-shaped rear cutout and a non-slip underside, and adds about 2 in to your sitting height. For the back, the ErgoBack™ Lumbar Support Cushion fills the hollow at your lower back, held at the right height by two adjustable straps.

For both, the EaseDrive™ Honeycomb Car Seat Cushion & Backrest Set pairs a seat pad with a center channel and a separate backrest. The backrest hooks over the top of the seat back and fastens with two lower straps.

Sit higher behind the wheel: a seat booster for short drivers

The RideRise™ Seat Booster Cushion is an adult seat booster made for shorter drivers who feel too low in their car, for car seats that have sagged over the years, and for shared, rental or company cars. Set it thick end against the backrest: it is 3.5 in thick at the back, thinner at the front, and 12.6 in deep, so the front edge of the seat stays clear. When someone else drives, lift it off. Off the road, it also works on an office or dining chair that sits too low.

Not sure how much height you need? Our guide to sitting higher behind the wheel walks you through measuring before you buy.

RideRise is not a child car seat or booster and does not replace a certified child restraint.

The ErgoDrive™ Inclined Car Seat Cushion is the sloped alternative, from about 3.1 in at the back to 0.6 in at the front. It is made for seats that feel too deep at the back, has a rear cutout, and its zippered mesh cover comes off for washing.

Set it up safely

  • Install the cushion while the car is parked.
  • Readjust your seat, mirrors and seat belt before driving. With RideRise, also check your distance to the pedals and steering wheel, and that the belt sits across your shoulder and hips.
  • Check your headroom: ErgoDrive adds about 3.1 in at the back.
  • With EaseDrive, check that the seat belt, pedals and controls stay clear.
  • If a cushion shifts or gets in the way of your driving position, do not use it while driving.

Frequently asked questions

Will my car seat cushion work at the office too?

SciatiGuard and ErgoBack are made for car seats and office chairs. RideRise also works on an office or dining chair that sits too low.

Will EaseDrive fit my car?

Measure first. The backrest is about 28.7 in long without fasteners, 34.6 in with them, and up to 16.3 in wide; the seat pad is about 18.1 × 18.1 in.

Can I wash the covers?

ErgoBack's cover comes off and washes on a delicate cycle at 86°F (30°C). ErgoDrive's mesh cover unzips; the foam is not washable. RideRise's cover is not removable, so spot clean it with a damp cloth and mild soap.
